Welcome to Florence Township, Michigan

Florence Township operates under an elected board of five members and provides services to around 1300 residents in areas including fire & ambulance service and road maintenance. Florence Township was organized in 1826 and covers an area of 33 square miles. It has 64.61 miles of blacktop roads and 8.73 miles gravel roads.
The Township covers 4 school districts - White Pigeon, Constantine, Three Rivers, and Centreville.

The Township Hall, at the corner of Burgener Road & Banker Street, was purchased on April 19, 1931 from the Methodist Church for the price of $125.00. In 1934 it was leased to the Women’s Club for $1.00 per year plus insurance. Many changes have been made over the years.  The best was in 1995—indoor plumbing!
